Making music with my dad at the lake.

Weeks alone at the lake writing, then his dad arrives with the mobile studio and puts piano on whatever comes out.

Most years Brendan spends a few weeks at the lake on his own, writing, recording and working on new Alific songs. Toward the end of the trip his dad comes up, they fire up the mobile studio, lay down piano and jam on whatever is in progress. No plan, no pressure.

His dad's playing has become part of the Alific sound. He adds things Brendan would not have thought of, and after almost every session he says he doesn't think he played very well. The tapes disagree.
